3D & Robotics Project: Engineering a RC Tank

At Haaga-Helia University, my team and I built a fully functional, 3D-printed remote-controlled tank equipped with a laser-assisted shooting turret. The project was a dive into combining mechanical design, rapid prototyping, and microcontroller programming.

Insights

This project was a good learning experience in bridging software with physical hardware. It required constant problem-solving, from managing complex wire routing and power distribution to overcoming 3D printing shrinkages. Building our own custom controller was a major step too: it replaced a commercial gamepad with a more responsive, energy-efficient solution, raising the technical depth and success of the project beyond our initial plan.
