Organizing a Workshop

With a small group of students from HES-SO Valais-Wallis, we created a workshop on OSINT and the fundamentals of online data collection. The goal was to offer this workshop to students from Madrid and Helsinki at an international IT seminar held in Madrid.

Activities

In the morning, we started with a lecture on OSINT, followed by a short Capture The Flag event featuring custom challenges that combined various OSINT tools and techniques. In the afternoon, we held a lecture on web scraping, accompanied by guided exercises.

Insights

This event was a great experience to learn how to simplify a subject to teach it effectively to others. It required significant organization and on-the-go problem-solving when things didn't go as planned. It was also a valuable chance to see how other universities operate.
